I work in three media - Art created by Artificial Intelligence, Paintings, and Abstract Photography.

Using Artificial Intelligence to create art, is the next wave to watch…

“A.I. Generated Art” is a collection of images that were generated from an A.I.’s consciousness. These works are some of the earliest A.I. Generated works ever produced in the world. I have trained the AI to recognize “my style” using the prior corpus of my paintings and photographs. After the training process is complete, the AI then generates new images in the same style it has just learned.

The act of painting is sacred to me. I feel that each of the paintings I have made, gets created despite me. I feel drawn to capture a painting as the inspiration passes through me briefly. It is a privilege to be able to experience the making of a painting. The poet Ruth Stone talks of her creative process in the same way -

“…I know that a poem will happen and later I will look at it, and say: Wow, where did that come from? how did I do that? I didn't set out to do that, but the neural connections are so fast, the body, the self is so slow, (laughs) that you're kind of astonished. It's odd.”  (Ruth Stone)

When looking at the paintings, I ask that you please stop trying to process the painting intellectually. Instead, I nudge you to try to identify the emotional or physical reaction you have to these paintings. Most of these works are not meant to agitate you, but yet I am hoping they evoke an emotional reaction.

Our reductionist mind has a strong tendency to quickly analyze what we see and move on to the next input. The reason I focus on the abstracts, is because I want to give my inner mind a chance to experience an image, instead of merely reacting to the elements in it. The easiest way to experience silence is through abstraction.

Here are some examples of the surfaces I paint on:

Unframed Paintings on Canvas Paper

Oil Paintings on Mounted Aluminium (up to size 16 x 24)

Paintings on Stretched Canvas

I print my digital photographs on metal, unframed canvas or unframed fine art paper.

These surfaces are lightweight, easy to hang and convenient to transport. It also allows their new owners to have flexibility in the way they want to display them in their spaces.

Photograph printed and framed under glass (gets very heavy and unwieldy to hang - size 24 x 36 in)

A.I. Generated works are produced as digital images that are then enhanced. They can be printed on a variety of surfaces (buyer’s choice).

I prefer fine art paper and aluminium prints.
